How’s the water?”<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n And the two young fish swim on for a bit<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n And then eventually one of them looks over at the other and goes<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n “What the hell is water?”<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n – This is Water<\/a> by David Foster Wallace<\/p>\n\n\n\n At the core of every enduring SEO strategy is *great* writing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n But overtime, writing becomes such an obvious and immersive part of the content process, that it begins to hide in plain sight.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n I think that\u2019s why there is such asymmetry in the blogging advice we encounter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n We\u2019ll optimize our images, page speed, site structure and a whole slew of other factors, long before we consider leveling up our writing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n One of the best ways to quickly evolve your writing style is to aggressively consume the work of those who do it best.<\/p>\n\n\n\n And few do it better than Paul Graham.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Graham is most known for co-founding Y Combinator, a startup accelerator that launched Stripe, Instacart, Airbnb and countless other successful companies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n But, as it turns out, Graham is also a prolific writer.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n Recently, I\u2019ve made a concerted effort to read (and often re-read) his work.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
