Luckily, it doesn’t become noticeable to others until 50% or more of me is gone.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Some people are willing to bleed in order to keep me.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Others just let me go.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I first discovered this monster of a niche in August last year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Somehow (don’t ask how) I found myself reading an article about “Edgar haircuts”.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What the hell is an “Edgar haircut”?<\/p>\n\n\n

Alrighttttty then.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

My first thought – “Not really my<\/em> style”.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

My second thought (naturally) – “I wonder how many people are typing this into Google every month?”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I type “Edgar cut” into Ahrefs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I hit enter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

136,000 monthly searches.<\/p>\n\n\n

280,000 monthly searches globally!?!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What in the hell.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Time to dig deeper…<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hair Me Out<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

I jump back over to Google again, this time to analyze the page 1 results.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I want to see what kinds of websites are ranking.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

One-by-one I plug them into Ahrefs site explorer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

JACKPOT.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A handful of low DR sites crushing it…<\/p>\n\n\n

Like 3MM pageviews a month big…<\/p>\n\n\n

Ok, further down the rabbit hole I go…<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Keyword Heaven<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

I start honing in on individual sites in this niche and looking closely at the organic keywords they’re ranking for.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The results are unlike anything I’ve ever seen.<\/p>\n\n\n

Look, I’m well aware Keyword Difficulty (KD) is a made up metric, and often wildly wrong.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

You should always go the SERPs and determine how competitive a keyword is for yourself.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But it’s undeniable that this niche (hair, hair styles, hair cuts, etc) is a MASSIVE opportunity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And if you need proof – look no further than all the low DR sites in this niche doing big numbers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

They’re not hard to find.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The craziest part is the keywords above are from a site about men’s<\/em> haircuts\/styles ONLY.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Here’s some keywords from a site geared more towards women’s<\/em> haircuts\/styles.<\/p>\n\n\n

Opportunities everywhere.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And we haven’t even looked at the keywords getting “just” 5,000 pageviews a month.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Here’s the organic keyword results of a site in this niche with a filter on to only show keywords with a Keyword Difficulty of 25 or less.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I’m on page 25 of the results.<\/p>\n\n\n

25 pages of low competition keywords before I even get to keywords with a “measly” 5k pageviews a month.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Truly insane.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Thoughts<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

So the good news is there’s plenty of ranking opportunities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The less than good news is that ad rates are probably very low for this niche.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Although<\/em> it’s possible the sheer volume of traffic you get will negate this some.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This niche is also extremely reliant on images – you’ll need a TON of pictures.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

People want to SEE the different hairstyles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

They don’t really want to just read about them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Many of the sites ranking now just take photos from Instagram and embed them in their posts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

You could probably do something similar.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Or maybe try using AI to generate some of the images for you?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Speaking of AI…<\/p>\n\n\n\n

How cool would it be if your site had a tool that allowed a user to upload 10-15 images of themselves and then it generated 100 realistic images of them with different haircuts, styles and colors?<\/p>\n\n\n

Think of how many backlinks a tool like that would get.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

You could probably even charge people to use it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Final Words<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

I believe you could win in this niche even if you didn’t<\/em> establish a brand.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hell, the majority of the sites that I shared traffic charts of above aren’t brands.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But if you did spend the time to establish yourself and become one of the few real brands in this niche, the possibilities are endless.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

You could sell your own products.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Take beardbrand.com<\/a> for example.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Not hair on your head, but still hair nonetheless.<\/p>\n\n\n

They’re probably killing it!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
